During my maternity leave, I set my sight on finding a good preschool for Kai Lynn starting Jan 2014. In the course of my search, I shortlisted various schools (namely Bethesda Katong Kindergarten, Bedok Methodist Kindergarden, MMI Tampines and NAFA). Each had fascinating facets in their curriculum. I was enthralled with their facilities, teachers, location and programs and quickly placed deposits at 2 of these schools in the spirit kiasu-ism ("our seats are being snapped up fast"). When we suddenly got offered a place at NAFA (we have been on their waiting list since Kai Lynn was 18 months old), my elation was laced with frustration. $400 worth of deposits had just disappeared into thin air!
With preschool settled for Kai Lynn, it is time to get her accustomed to the routine. 4 hour class (1-5pm excluding commuting time) is definitely going to be a strain on her and her attention span is distressingly short. She can also be quite sticky to me and we are keeping our fingers crossed that separation anxiety not be a major bugbear. When we talk to her about school, she gets real quiet and solemn. Its almost as if she's dreading it.
Came across some useful articles how to prepare her for preschool (she'll only be 2 years 9 months!)
Hope they work!
